We are saddened by the news of the passing of Officer Josh Mourton early this morning.
Officer Mourton not only served our community as a police officer, but he served our district as a Resource Officer as well. Josh was a gentle giant, who loved our Greenwood Bulldog family and worked diligently to keep our kids and staff safe every day. Our condolences and prayers go out to Ashley, Griffin, and Coltyn, as well as the Mourton family during this time.

KINDERGARTEN EARLY ENROLLMENT starts April 1st

On March 30th, 2021, Governor Asa Hutchinson and the Arkansas Department of Health made a joint decision to lift the mask mandate in Arkansas.
Throughout the pandemic, Greenwood Public School District has followed all recommendations and guidelines of the Arkansas Department of Health and we will continue to do so.
After meeting with our Certified Personnel Policy Committee, Classified Personnel Policy Committee, and the Ready for Learning Committee (comprised of teachers, health care workers, parents, maintenance staff, administrators, food service director, transportation director, and security director), the decision was made to remove the mask policy for Greenwood Public Schools effective immediately.
Although masks are no longer required, students, staff, and visitors are welcome to continue to wear masks during the school day and at school events.
All other directives of the Arkansas Department of Health will continue to be in effect including enhanced cleaning practices, screening procedures, and social distancing when possible.
An updated Ready for Learning Plan with the new directives and guidelines will be posted on our website and social media pages for public comment by April 15, 2021. We value your suggestions and comments and appreciate your involvement in this process.

GSPIRE SUMMER EDITION Registration starts Thursday, April 1st.

In response to Governor Asa Hutchinson’s announcement regarding the mask mandate set to expire at midnight April 1st, Greenwood School District administrators will meet with the Certified Personnel Policy Committee, Classified Personnel Policy Committee, and the Ready for Learning Committee to discuss the Governor’s recommendations, and to make decisions on mask mandates and social distancing guidelines for the remainder of the school year.
Please watch for a release with updated guidelines on March 31st.
