Thanksgiving Break Reminder!
At the November Board meeting, East Pointe Elementary School staff was honored for the award of being a PLC Model School.
Receiving the certificate from Dr. Brad Johnson is Dr. Josh Ray, principal, Faith Short, assistant principal, along with the staff of East Pointe on Zoom.
East Pointe Elementary School has been recognized as a
Model Professional Learning Community at work.
One of about 200 Schools and Districts in the U.S. and Canada to
receive this honor.
East Pointe was recently recognized by Solution Tree for its
sustained success in raising student achievement.
PLCs are schools and districts in which educators recognize the key
to improved learning for students is on=going, job-embedded
learning for the adults who serve those students. The three big
ideas of a PLC call upon educators to:
Focus on learning
Build a collaborative culture
Create a results orientation
Schools are recognized based on strict criteria, including
demonstration of a commitment to PLC concepts, implementation of
these concepts for at least three years, and clear evidence of
improved student learning over that period.
Congratulations to the East Pointe Elementary staff for
this honor!
