Thank you so much for your feedback as we considered options for the remainder of the 2023-2024 Greenwood School District Calendar. We received 1610 responses from our community and staff and an overwhelming 91% expressed support for the proposed adjustment to the bell schedules at Greenwood Junior High and Greenwood High School. In response to your input, our school board voted unanimously last night to approve the proposed change. As a result: 1. Beginning Monday, February 19, 2024, the GJHS and GHS will begin the school day at 7:55 AM and end at 3:11 PM. This change adds 3 minutes to the day at GJHS and 11 minutes at GHS. 2. The bell schedule will not change for any other Greenwood School District campus. 3. As long as we do not have any additional snow days, this change will allow the last day of school for our district to be Thursday, May 30, 2024. 4. This change will not impact morning bus routes. However, if your child rides the bus home in the afternoon, buses should not be delayed more than 3-5 minutes. Thank you for your cooperation and support! GO BULLDOGS!

Greenwood's senior high quiz bowl team, without several starters who were at Beta Convention, managed to go 4-1 at the Guy Fenter Co-op Sr. High Tournament on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the one loss came in the first round of single elimination by 15 points. Greenwood then went on to win the "Better Luck Next Year" trophy by having the highest total scores of teams not playing in the finals. Greenwood captain, Senior Emma Powell, was named to the all-tournament team and was the second highest scoring individual player at the tournament. Other players were Junior, Michael Turner, Sophomores Isaac Buzbee, Christian Michael, and Jess Henry, and Freshman Gabe Hensley Greenwood’s junior high quiz bowl blue team took third at the 6A West Regional Tournament Saturday. Team captain, eighth grader Dexter Coston, was named to the all-tournament team and earned the High Point Player medal by scoring more points than all other individual players. Other team members were Freshmen Ethan Shumate, Story Clark, and Bryson Cook, and seventh graders Aiden Kimble and Seth Fontenot. The third place finish qualified the team to compete in the 6A Junior Finals Tournament on Feb. 17.
