The Greenwood Education Foundation is once again taking nominations for the Greenwood Schools Hall of Honor.
The Hall of Honor was established to recognize distinguished graduates and associates of the Greenwood School System throughout the years.
Honorees will be inducted at the Football Homecoming Game, Friday, October 4th.
The prospective honorees may be nominated by alumni and friends of the Greenwood schools and the selections will be made by the entire 18-member GEF board.
✨To be eligible for induction, the honoree must meet two or more of the following criteria:
(1) either have attended or contributed to the Greenwood School System
(2) contributed to mankind
(3) been successful in life
(4) dedicated their lives to education
(5) been successful in their professions
Induction is open to anyone who meets these criteria, whether they are alive or deceased. The honor is not limited to graduates of GHS.
To make nominations to the Hall of Honor please send the name of the nominee, their address or address of any surviving relatives if the nominee is deceased, with a listing of the reasons you think this person should be inducted into the Greenwood Schools Hall of Honor to:

CONGRATULATIONS! 🏆✨✨
The Greenwood 8th/9th Grade junior high quiz bowl team finished second at the Guy Fenter Co-op Junior High Tournament. The team consisted of Story Clark, Bryson Cook, Ethan Shumate, Dexter Coston, Gabriel Himes, Willing Brixey, and Kyndal Velosky. Dexter Coston was named the tournament’s MVP after scoring the most points individually. 7th/8th grade team member Aiden Kimble was also named to the all-tournament team.
The senior high quiz bowl team took third place out of eleven teams at the Pea Ridge High School Invitational on Saturday. Players were Aya Alzufari, Emma Powell, and John Wagner who shared captain's duties, as well as David Bronson, Gabriel Hensley, Christian Michael, and Jess Henry.

This past Saturday, the Chess teams attended the regional Chess tournament. The Jr. High team brought home the 1st place trophy in our division and Brickston Lambe won the MVP award in our division. 🏆🏆
Jr. High team members included Trevor Willbanks, Seth Fontenot, Brickston Lambe, Weston King, Brenden Steinfeldt, Grady Garner, Dexter Coston, and Rustin Broussard. ✨👏🏻👏🏻

Good evening. Today, the Greenwood maintenance staff worked diligently to clear the parking lots of our campuses. Additionally, our transportation department and administration drove throughout our district to survey the road conditions. Unfortunately, due to the condition of our school campuses and several rural roads in our district, the Greenwood School District will be closed on Thursday, 1/18/24.

BASKETBALL 🏀 Games:
JVGirls and Boys will play Thursday night (1-18) along with the Varsity games vs. Siloam Springs at HB Stewart Arena. Games will start at 4 p.m.
Due to the fact many of our rural and secondary roads remain snow-covered and hazardous, the Greenwood School District will be closed on Wednesday, 1/17/24. Stay safe and warm!
